The Story of Forest Rail is a fictional Japanese route under development by Union Workshop (T9Express and CNAurora). It is going to be published through Steam by Dovetail Games.

BackgroundEdit

Inspired by the scripted scenarios in the Horseshoe Curve that used camera movement and dialogue boxes to add more interest[1], The Story of Forest Rail features a unique heavily story based focus.

As big fans of Hayao Miyazaki, Union Workshop wished to create something with a sense of Spirited Away or My Neighbor Totoro, and also to recreate the feeling of Japanese rural and remote railways. A lot of time was spent on creating trees, grass and flowers that suited a Japanese rural route.
